As Footprinters we share in the common goals of the entire organization helping where we can and supporting law enforcement. Like most other chapters we have our favorite charities. Ours are providing dental care for disadvantaged children, supporting child programs such as during Red Ribbon Week, and helping other chapters in their support of our Mexican law enforcement neighbors

Part of the fun of being a Footprinter are the special events that we organize or participate in. These events help raise funds to support our charity projects. These events include our annual golf tournament, raffles, dinners, auctions, and a motorcycle charity run from Victorville to Primm, Nevada.

In 2005 we started a Scholarship Program for High School Seniors who plan a career in Law Enforcement. We gave two $1,500 Scholarships to local seniors in May 2005

Other special events we host include honoring law enforcement personnel - especially the "invisible" but vital contributors to this effort. We hold three major activities to do this:

• "Law Enforcement Volunteer Awards" - This evening dinner affair honors the top volunteers from the various law enforcement agencies within the Hi-Desert communities.
• "Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Awards" We honor one outstanding law enforcement officer nominated by their respective agencies for outstanding service. Over 200 supporters of law enforcement typically attend this prestigious awards night.
• "Dispatchers Awards Night" - Dispatchers are the lifeline for law enforcement officers in the field. We proudly recognize their great service at this event and recognize individuals and dispatch teams for outstanding performance.

Our chapter is very fortunate in having good leadership (past and present), excellent membership, and a great relationship between law enforcement and the citizens of our communities. Our current President is a Sheriff's Sergeant with San Bernardino County and one of our Past Presidents is Gary Penrod, the present Sheriff of our great county.
