Secretary's Message - July

As most of you probably know by now, Tony took a tumble over a garden hose and is nursing his wounds and wearing a neck brace. He and Tina had planned on attending the International Footprint Grand Convention in Ogden, Utah along with Lloyd and me; however, due to his accident they were not able to attend.

It was a very good convention this year and many items of business were resolved. Several good ideas regarding membership drives and attendance for dinner meetings were gleaned from other chapters.

For dinner meetings (other than award dinners such as Law Enforcement Awards Night, Dispatcher Awards, Volunteer Awards, and Red Ribbon Awards) we plan to have a drawing for a free dinner. This means that everyone who plans to attend would need to call me at: 955-2929 no later than the 2nd Wednesday of each month. At that time they will be given a choice of two entrees. Their name will be placed in a pot and taken to the meeting. Sometime during the meeting a name will be drawn for someone to receive $20 which will cover the cost of their dinner for the evening with $4.00 left over to buy 50/50 tickets or whatever they choose to do with it. This will give me a better idea of how many people are planning on attending since I need to let the Green Tree know how many to set up for.

Effective with the July 21st meeting, the cost of dinner will be $16.00 each due to the Green Tree raising their prices.

Membership renewals are coming in at a good rate with 179 already received. Keep up the good work. We would like to surpass last year's membership
