Presidents Message

It was an honor to be sworn in as president at our last meeting. I am really looking forward to working with Lieutenant Preston Leslie and the other members of the Board of Directors during my term as president of this great IFA chapter. There are some exciting events planned for the next several months and I am thrilled about the IFA scholarship program that is being formulated.

It was a pleasure serving as the Vice-President and working directly with Lisa this past year. She did an outstanding job as president and I am privileged to have her friendship and support.

This year I have set a personal goal to recruit new members into the chapter and would encourage all of our members to do the same. I have spoken with many of the newer law enforcement officers throughout the High Desert and found they were unfamiliar with the Footprinters. Many of these officers had no idea what the organization is all about. If you know someone who you think would make a good Footprinter, please inform them about our organization and encourage them to attend one of our meetings.

It is going to be a busy year with all the events planned. The Desert Thunder Motorcycle Ride will be in October and is continuing to grow in numbers. Our chapter is continuing our efforts by assisting in the registration of the participants of Desert Thunder. As most of you are aware we will be able to provide a large donation to the children's charity from the proceeds from this event. Over the next 3 months I will be recruiting several of you to assist at Stateline this year. There is a little work along with a lot of fun at this event.

I would like to congratulate Rob Alexander on his promotion to detective and on his move to the Colorado River Station. Rob has affirmed his commitment to stay active even with the commute for the meetings. He has become a great asset to our chapter with all of his efforts and hard work in putting the newsletter together.
