ADVANCE NOTICE

HI GANG:

This will give you an advance notice of our next general meeting to take place next Thursday, 28 February 2002. We will be meeting in the banquet room of the Chef Peking Restaurant, 515 Veterans Blvd., in Redwood City. The restaurant is part of the health studio complex, on the corner of Veterans Blvd.'s and Whipple Avenue. They will have appetizers, and a selection of four or five dishes. Cocktails (wine, beer, sake) at 6:00 Dinner at 7:00. The price will be $20 per person, tax and gratuity included. Please try and attend so we can keep our chapter together. Please e-mail me or call Mona -- 368 2821 -- if you will be able to attend. Let's start to have fun again. Bring a Pot-0-Gold gift.

In the next two days or so, you will get a snail mail bulletin, outlining what has been happening in the District and National. I am happy to say, as approved by the members present at the last meeting, I have sent a $1000 check from our chapter to the "Most Needy" organization in New York City. This foundation weighs the needs of individuals, on a case by case basis, and makes allowances to them, as opposed to a set amount going to each individual, whether there is a need or not.

We will not have a meeting in March. The reason for this is that the Bay Area Chapters of District II will be hosting our Grand President and his Sgt. at Arms Ed Powers, from Bellingham, WA, in San Leandro. Every member and their significant other, and friends are welcome to attend this visitation. Let's impress our Grand President with a big turnout. It will take place on Tuesday, 19 March at Dick's Restaurant in San Leandro. Directions are easy, Take the San Mateo Bridge over to 880, go north to Washington (east) turnoff. Go out Washington (about a mile) to Halcyon Blvd., turn left, go one block, turn right, and follow the road about a mile to a shopping complex on the right, in the middle of which sits Dick's. Choice of entree will be Prime Rib, Chicken Cordon Bleu or Baked Salmon. There will be a special, surprise dessert. All this for $20. Cocktails at 6:00 dinner at 7:00. There will be a pot-o-gold. Please e-mail me for reservations if you plan to attend.

Also, if you feel you would like to join the East Bay Chapter 7 for a corned beef and cabbage and all the trimmings, to celebrate St. Patty's day, they will have their dinner on 15 March at the Italian American Hall in Alameda, 2712 Encinal Avenue. The whole family and friends are welcome. Adults, $10, Children 6-12 $5, under six free. Let me know if you want to attend, or call Dick Thomson at 1-888 944 1763 before 12 March. Pot-o-Gold. Social with appetizers at 6:00, Dinner at 7:30.
